Belgian academic hospitals start donation campaign #ClapAndAct

A unique call to action: turn your applause for health professionals into a financial gift that supports and guarantees medical research, education and innovation

For the first time ever, several Belgian academic hospitals join forces in a national campaign to make a donation in support of their activities. With the campaign #ClapAndAct they ask the general public for financial support to allow them to continue their work in research and innovation, particularly in the field of infectious diseases. This vital mission is now endangered by the urgent need for help in the Covid-19 crisis. The hospitals ask the people to accompany their daily applause from their balconies for all health workers with a tangible action, making a donation via www.clapandact.be.

#ClapAndAct

Academic hospitals are deploying the majority of their health professionals to tackle the Covid-19 crisis and treat infected patients. Their focus is now first and foremost on this task, reducing their academic activities. For the first time, 5 Belgian academic hospitals are joining forces to set up this fundraising campaign, to ask the general public for support.

Make a donation via www.clapandact.be

On www.clapandact.be, we can all do more than just applaud the heroes of healthcare.

Choose one of the participating academic hospitals and then quickly make a donation in support of their work. Donations starting from 40 euros are tax-deductible.

This campaign is also an answer to questions from the public to contribute to the important work the hospitals are doing. Their additional support is now more than welcome, on top of the public funding. This initiative also illustrates the spirit of solidarity that drives the academic hospitals.

Note: This campaign is made possible by the pro bono partnership with Emakina and Wide, two renowned communication agencies. They charge no commission for on work, or on the collected donations.
